Candidate Registration
For the 2025 Student Government Association Election, candidates can submit their Statement of Candidacy in-person or virtually via scanned image to the commission email.

The Candidate Registration Period is from:
March 18th at 8 am to March 25 at 5 pm
​
Please note, in order to run for SGA President or VP you must attend the mandatory listening circle.

Candidates may collect their petition signatures through virtual or in-person means. The physical forms can be found at the bottom of this page. Candidates must fill out a Statement of Candidacy AND​ Petition of Support, regardless if it is in-person or virtual.
To request a virtual Engage petition please email jec@gwu.edu with a copy of your completed statement of candidacy attached. The Mandatory President and VP Listening Circle:
March 17 from 6-8 pm, in USC 309

The Mandatory Candidate meetings are:

March 27th @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT in the USC Presentation Space.
OR
March 30th @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT in the USC Presentation Space.

The Campaign Period is March 31st @ 9 am EDT until April 11th at 9 pm EDT.
​
The Election is April 10th @ 9 am EDT to April 11th at 9 pm EDT.

We encourage all prospective candidates to read and review the JEC Charter and Bylaws as well as all JEC finalized rules. As a reminder failure to read or understand a rule or regulation is not a valid defense in a JEC violation hearing. All prospective candidates are responsible for the actions of their agents and will be held liable for any violation they commit.

2025 Candidate Registration Forms
Prospective candidates must complete and submit both forms found below by 5 pm on March 25th. Please be sure to read the JEC Code and Bylaws before collecting signatures.
